The Helping Skills to Facilitate Career Development on-demand bundle requires the completion of the following self-paced modules:

  • Scope of Helping Practice (4 hours)
  • Building Blocks of the Helper-Client Relationship (4 hours)
  • Dealing with “Challenging” Clients (3 hours)
  • Exploration and Questioning Techniques (3 hours)
  • Reflecting and Paraphrasing (3 hours)
  • Summarizing and Ending the Helping Relationship (3 hours)

Students are welcome to take individual modules based on their training needs; however, the modules can be bundled to receive credit for the full 20-hour, Helping Skills to Facilitate Career Development. Although the self-paced modules are independent of each other and can be completed in any order, for those aiming to complete the full CMPP Bundle, we do recommend completing in the order listed here.

This module explores the art of summarizing, ending sessions with care, and preparing for the closure of helping relationships. Through practical tools, video demonstrations, and reflective activities, learners will strengthen their ability to guide clients through transitions while maintaining clarity, respect, and professional boundaries.

This module introduces the foundational mindset and skill set of career practice, challenging common myths about “helping” and emphasizing the importance of self-awareness, ethical boundaries, and professional scope.
This module introduces exploration strategies and questioning techniques which are useful to uncover client concerns, clarify goals, and identify deeper issues. Through structured conversation and intentional inquiry, CDPs will learn to guide clients in examining career options and personal challenges with empathy and precision.
This module explores how CDPs can effectively support clients who may be reluctant, resistant, or navigating complex personal and systemic challenges. Through a lens of cultural awareness, learners will examine strategies for building trust, managing difficult interactions, and fostering motivation in diverse client contexts.
This module emphasizes the foundational importance of connection, trust, and active listening in career practice. It explores how CDPs can build strong working alliances through empathy and intentional communication—creating a climate where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.
